Scottish Highlands | Raised with Intention

Scarlet Sunrise Lorna came to us from Spring Creek Highlands, and we're honored to have her join our fold. She is a large-framed, powerful cow with strong structure and good feet. Soon after she arrived, she quietly made herself herd queen. She doesn't have to push the other cows around to be in charge. They know where she stands, and the babies seem to know they're welcome right beside her.

We've called Lorna the aunt of the year. She is patient with the calves, shares her alfalfa, and keeps them close without making a fuss. Her calm temperament and the way she welcomes the babies have made us all the more excited to see her with a calf of her own.

Lorna's sire is Spring Creek Easton, a son of Skye High Capone and Yvette of Hem-Loch. Through Capone, her pedigree reaches back to LEA Haaken and Trafalgar May. Her dam, ScarletSunrise Georgia, brings in Sunset Braveheart and DH Angus Cait, with Sunset TNT and Angus Mor of Glengoyne farther back. We're grateful to have these lines represented in our fold.

HCA Juliet's Heavenly Jade is our homegrown foundation mama (our butterfly moment), and she has been Dave's favorite since the beginning. She has looked like she's scowling at us since she was days old. That face has never changed, even though she has given us two of the sweetest calves in the fold.

Jade is a large-framed cow with good feet, a well-held udder, and the milk to raise a growing calf. She raised Rae to 569 pounds at eight months on her milk and a forage-based diet. Her daughter S'ead is growing beautifully, too. Jade is an attentive mama who likes to care for her calves in her own way. She may prefer her personal space over kisses from us, but she gives her babies plenty of care.

Her pedigree has substance behind it. Through her sire, Fat Cow Mercury, Jade traces to Mar-Mor Oberon and Mar-Mor Callie, an AHCA Impact Dam. Her dam, Rustlers' Juliet, brings Five Star Farm and Valhalla lines. Jade is our own homegrown piece of those families, and the calves she raises make us proud to build our fold around her.

Squire Farms Captain Janeway is a large-framed cow with a strong presence in our fold. She has good feet and a well-held udder. Since becoming a mama, she has shown us a patient side. She gave us Jami in 2026 and has even allowed Jade's calf S'ead to nurse from her.

Jane's pedigree brings together Spring Creek, Trafalgar, and LEA lines, along with Thorbardin and Dirigo Canadian lines. We're glad to have that combination represented in her calf.

Jane is gentle with the babies around her and seems content to let Lorna manage the fold. Watching her with Jami and S'ead has shown us a side of Jane we hadn't seen before she became a mother.

Squires Farm Andromeda is a medium-framed, athletic cow with good feet and a quiet, gentle nature. She's smart, too. It's hard to believe this girl proudly wore her dreadlocks until she was almost 18 months old because she refused to let us touch her. Now she is the easiest cow in our field to handle, and she has worked her way into my heart as my favorite cow.

Andi gave us Áine in March 2026 and showed us what we hoped to see in a first-calf mama. Áine needed help finding her way to the udder, so we stepped in to milk Andi and help her calf. Andi let us work beside her through those first days. She never rejected Áine or pushed us away.

She is our most attentive mother, always aware of where Áine is while still giving her room to explore. That maternal instinct, paired with a temperament we can work with, is exactly what we value in our fold. Andi has a neat, well-held udder and the milk to support Áine's strong growth. We're retaining Áine in part because we hope to carry Andi's temperament forward.

Andi's pedigree includes Spring Creek, LEA Haaken, Skye High Capone, and Trafalgar May lines, with CH Winchester and Klondike Kate of Cherry Point in her dam's family. We're proud of those roots and even prouder of the cow and mother she has become.

IHB Moonlight Stitch is a medium-framed, athletic cow with good feet, a nice udder, and a mind that is entirely her own. She knows her name, knows where the snackies live, and even knows which corner to slip behind so the other cows won't see her getting one. She is brilliant, and she keeps us on our toes.

It took us time to earn Mooni's trust, and we're still building it day by day. Her relationship with the comb says it all: some days she loves a brushing, and some days she would rather we put it away. One day she sought Dave out, settled in, and let him brush her for twenty minutes. Moments like that mean a lot when you know how far she has come. Mooni isn't difficult; she wants us to listen to her, too.

Mooni gave us Romeo in April 2026 and has been a wonderful first-calf mama. She has cared for him well, and watching him grow has given us another reason to appreciate her.

She is a daughter of EZ Acres Kyle, an AHCA Impact Sire, out of TRM Silver Bells. Her pedigree also reaches into Cladich, Dirtane, McClelland, Hangman's Hill, Osceola, and LEA lines. We value the cattle behind her, and Mooni herself holds a solid place in our hearts.
